About the event
Across their careers, both artists have embraced painting as a space for discovery. Atkins moves through themes, places, and imagined worlds—from Paris and Haiti to Russia and Heaven—finding in the act of painting a form of escape and personal expression. Tilghman has continually evolved his visual language, moving between realism, folk art, cubism, and impressionism while building a body of work that spans nearly five decades.
Together, their work reflects what happens when an artist gives themselves the freedom to keep exploring. Made Over Time is a celebration of longevity, creative evolution, and the countless choices, experiences, and moments that become part of an artist’s practice.
